That being said, the outright lack of technical hiring standards becomes quite apparent when you begin to investigate the engineering assessments of hired candidates. I was slightly disappointed to discover, as others have noted, Divvy's lack of diversity and openness to people outside their tight-knit community. I can appreciate a company's preference for finding candidates that easily assimilate into their caucasian, male-dominated, Utah-esque (you know what I mean) culture, but it's not something I would be happy in long-term. Continue Readingĭivvy seems like the type of place with low technical standards and high culture-fit standards. Overall this was such a horrible experience, I felt that I really fit in with the team and was even looking forward to joining if given a fair offer, but the end was a real sucker punch. The least they could have done was let me know even if I did receive an offer, it would be way below my current salary. I then had to reach out to the other firm after their business hours to let them know I needed another day to make a decision, making me look horrible. I gave Divvy a deadline on when I had to make a decision by and at the last minute on the day I was supposed to make a decision, Divvy let me know they needed another day to make their decision. On top of this, I had a current offer in hand from another firm. If you knew that you couldn't even meet my current salary why was I moved pass the initial screening? I received great feedback every step of the way and then a few days after my last interview I received a call from the HR recruiter with an offer that was almost 30% below my current salary. From the first phone screen they knew my current salary. Overall it was really nice getting to meet the team, but this HR team has to be one of the least transparent HRs I've ever worked with. Preliminary phone screen, another screen with 2 directors, a take home assignment, and then 2 more panel interviews (hour and a half). I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Divvy in Dec 2021 Interview
